I think most parents drive their children, but we use the school-provided bus.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

Sports, arts, dance, crafts and music.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

My daughter is in kindergarten this year, so we haven't had experience with school transfers yet.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

There is a very active Parent-Teacher Organization, and activities organized for parents to meet each other socially.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

It's a lovely school -- fantastic facility, good teachers, great programs. ISR follows the Success-for-All phonics program, which is wonderful; our daughter's reading skills grew by leaps and bounds within weeks of starting the program, and halfway through her Kindergarten year she was simply reading, everything and anything. It's an IB PYP school, accredited through both the Council of International Schools and the Latvian Ministry of Education.
