The Erasmus International School is situated in the beautiful landscape of Potsdam. Easy access(10 min by car from Berlin). Spacious school grounds. School bus service. Sport facilities on campus. The school places great emphasis on extra-curricular activities, as these enable students to participate in and enjoy being together outside the normal classroom environment. Boarding facilities for up to 90 students, also on a monthly basis.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

The Erasmus International School teaches in small groups of max 20 students. They offer a child-centered learning environment and the students feel like being part of a big family. The school currenty has less than 200 children but despite this has nationalities from the 5 continents represented. The curriculum is in line with the programmes of the IB PYP (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme), IB MYP (IB Middle Years Programme) and IB diploma courses. The language of instruction is English. A full ESL-programme is available for students whose mother tongue is not English. German as a Foreign Language is offered at all age levels and mother tongue instruction is offered to all students within the regular timetable. How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

The school has a Parent Council. They meet monthly and help the new parents integrate into Berlin.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

Student applications are possible throughout the school year for immediate enrolment.
