Describe how you "dreamed" expat life would be before you moved overseas. Please provide as much detail as possible.

I hoped the experience would be a lot better than living in UK at that time. Political correctness, the weather, a certain PM and his influences, and no longer feeling at home all contributed to the move.

How has your expat experience met the expectations you dreamed about before you moved abroad?

In some ways a great deal. For instance the weather, being able to see the sun, stars and moon made me very happy. Also being able to go to the beach and swim whenever I wanted, walking in the countryside and seeing nature in all its glory. Taking time out to relax. Learning new hobbies and continuing existing ones. I like the friendliness of the people and their willingness to help.

How has your expat experience NOT met the expectations you dreamed about before you moved abroad?

The bureaucracy was not expected, also the hurdles to be overcome when trying to complete what would be a simple action in UK. Healthcare, although improved over the years, still involves traveling to the capital city on occasion.
