How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?
It is a relatively small school, but extra sporting activities are available due to the hard work of the teachers. I have seen better facilities and worse facilites, I would say the facilities are adequate.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
My children have always studied the british curriculum, so there was no need for transition. However the school has an excellent Learning Support department which can help children who struggle with the curriculum. I have not experienced a school yet that offers a program to prepare children for repatriation.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
There is a parent-teacher organisation that does its best under difficult circumstances. As always with this type of organisation it is the same few people doing everything as it seems hard to get volunteers. The school is very multi-cultural, hence there are no social activities for parents. But again I have not experienced an overseas school that offers such facilities.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
Victoria English School is an excellent school with dedicated staff. Like every school it has its problems and issues but value for money I think it is excellent.
