About the Property

Architecturally-designed, Jardin-Majorelle designer's charming, tranquil, petite Riad for summer sublet or monthly rental from June to September 30: fully applianced kitchen, private atelier, cable WIFI, lush courtyard, central fountain, large private salon with wood fireplace, 2 private ensuite BR's, (one queen, one double) on 2 private levels, each with AC, Master with private mezzanine. Exquisite roof terrace with exotic plants, evening dining area, giant shade parasol and hidden washing machine. View of Kutubia Mosque Tower, Dar Bacha Palace, and Atlas Mts. Includes: Housekeeper/cook, Cable wifi, all located in the highly desirable neighborhood of Bab Doukala/Dar Bacha (the real heart of the Medina). Great for couple plus 1 guest. Riad is a beauty! The neighborhood is absolutely safe, friendly and magical.

This private Riad home has been carefully renovated with extreme attention to detail and quality. It is a comfortable and sophisticated haven away from the madding crowds and crush of tourists in Jemma el Fna Square, yet only a ten minute walk away. At the end of my derb (alleyway) to the right of the souk, you'll find the secret Ali Baba treasure trove of Mustapha Blaoui hidden behind a wooden door numbered 144 (no sign); a 5-floor warehouse of the most amazing finds discovered by those in the know. (I tumbled in by accident and left with a cartload of handwoven Senegalese baskets and a hand-carved mirror now hanging in the foyer). Also on our Dar Bacha souk, you'll find Hammans, spas, restaurants, cafes, (including the Henna Cafe), vegetable and fruit markets, pastries, antiques, herbs and spices, pottery, tagines, rug merchants, clothes makers, the neighborhood barber, and the Dar el Bacha Palace at the nearby taxi stand.

Will consider renting for one or two full weeks, but prefer monthly or full season.

No children under 12, and no pets allowed.

(No smoking in house, thank you).

Trusted tour guide can be arranged to take you on day or overnight trips, or guide you through the Medina or up to the Atlas to visit Berber villages.

Pick up at airport is included.

Kitchen is fully applianced, but food is not included. Fatima, the housekeeper, does shopping, laundry, and housekeeping for a very small fee. She also cooks and serves delicious traditional Moroccan cuisine. You can organize your needs directly with her, including arranging trips with the guide who has worked with this Riad's guests for over 10 years. He speaks English, French, Italian and Arabic (of course) and drives a large, clean and comfortable 4w SUV.

Please note that this is a private house, not a guest hotel. As I need to be working in Europe this summer, I would rather have the house occupied by a professional couple who would take care and respect the property. All my personal items will be put into storage so you will have free access to all closets and drawers (there are many). Delicious sheets will be changed twice a week by Fatima, along with provided towels.

As an extra treat, Riad Utopia, a guesthouse catty-corner to my front door, will allow the use of their indoor pool. Lucky you! Just ask for the owner, Sebastian, at their kitchen door! Fatima will introduce you. You might need to pick up some faoutas, authentic Moroccan hammam towels if you do swim there. And don't forget to take them home with you. They make stunning gifts.
