Hi Tia,
Hope you’re well?

To answer your question there are a few areas in Santo Domingo, that are cosmopolitan, clean and safe. Those areas are:

Ensanche Naco
El Million
Bella vista
Piantini
Los Cacicazgos - most expensive place to live in Santo Domingo (SD). However extremely beautiful and located right by Mirador Sur park- perfect for workouts.

If you drive, all the places above are central to restaurants, supermarkets, parks, gyms, salons, shopping malls etc. If you opt for public transport, there are some Metro Stations located nearby (depending on location). I’d recommend that you drive or take an Uber as it’s safer.

The neighbourhoods listed above are primarily middle and upper class neighbourhoods and rent can range from $800 USD upwards, depending on the spec of the property and property type. My personal favourite is Piantini for its charm.

Looking at the structural trends, the city is moving more towards building apartment buildings and many of them offer some brilliant amenities such as: Gyms, Play Area (for children), Air Conditioned Lobby, Garage, 24 hour security (MOST IMPORTANT), Elevators, Pool, Terrace and so on…

It all depends on the lifestyle you’d like to live and your requirements. If you email me I would be happily explain in more detail ??

Regards
Tionne
