Advice on moving to oz with a child and a dog

So, we have been toying with the idea to move to Australia or Canada for about 2 years now. In the meantime we have got a family pet, and this put a burden on the idea as I know it can be a lengthy and expensive time. We just don’t want to be in the uk anymore, The only thing stopping us is anxiety! It’s a big step and I would hate to move everything and then fell like wtf have we done. We don’t have family over there, my partner has an engineer job so would easily get work. I work in sales with no quals so I would struggle I know. Has anyone made the move and regretted it? I know there is crime everywhere but we live in Liverpool and crime is at a high with London’s knife crime being out of control. It’s actually scary. I am not pretentious so I’m not expecting a 5 star pad with a pool. I just want a more relaxed life, work, school and the beach and the weekend. We’ve started the saving process, and giving ourselves 4 years to go. I just want to make sure we’re making the right decision. Perth is the place we like best but there is so many places in Perth ! I wouldn’t know where to start. I see a lot of people go over and then come back, but they are always going over - young and for 3 months of working at a farm and partying at the weekend. That’s not our intention. We’re both in our 30s and we want to settle. I would appreciate any advice, as we don’t have anyone out there for the info. Many thanks :)
