Depends what island. Also things take 2 times longer in the islands. Could take a year if not more to build a house. Also some island are tax exempt meaning you do not have to pay import tax on building supplies.

Thank you so much for replying. I'm in the very early stages of the thought process but it will happen. Do you know what islands give you the best value with the best vistas & beaches?
I would want roughly 11,000 sf -
16,000 sf of land to build on. Remote but accessible to supplies & grocery
Thanks again

I just bought some land on little exuma I plan to start building there in the next year. Exuma is beautiful. Little exuma is remote but George Town is about 30 min away for groceries and supply’s. Land is pretty cheap there compared to other island. I quess it all depends on what you want. Here is a video of my neighbors house. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1UhmwmqeQRo
Enjoy

That's great! Good for you and thanks for sharing. Exuma was a favorite. What should I pay for a good, average sized, beach lot on Exuma?
Thank you so much. I would be a great neighbor, too.

Let me know when you are ready to start building if is on exuma. I can get you started with a architect and contractor. The buying land process is long it took me 6 months to get it done. Not like the states. Realtor handles price then everything goes to a lawyer to finalize. The government over there is slow at processing things.
