catch ferry to Belize city then get taxi to SI direct, or taxi just to bus station and bus to SI. Is the CC airfield still out of operation? If not there is an air field in the SI area, so should be able to get a flight.

I planned to water taxi to BC and then bus it from Belize City to SI. I guess what I'm asking is how long this may take both ways so I can plan how long to be in SI. I've read all the schedules but connections are my concern. I figure it will be an overnighter. I'm coming down next week for the week and want to make a side trip from CC. see the jungle and mountains and waterfalls.

Water taxi or plane to Belize municipal airstrip. Bus to SI...or fljy to international and rent a car..are two options.

yes I do not think you could do te return in one day . the bus from Belize city to SI can take up to 2 hours the express about just about an hour and a half. The taxi direct would only take just over an hour but would be expensive.
Did the reverse journey for a day trip last summer. Same but different. We started out from Belmopan about 8am so about hour each way closer to the ferry, and we drove our own truck and parked it in the city ( with permission in a hotel parking lot) We were not reliant on the bus time table. We caught the last ferry back and were home by 9pm. Oh yes and it Rained most of the time on the caye, first day in a week of fabulous sunshine. Oh well nice time still.

thanks Terrific. I bought a drone and plan to make movies of CC and the waterfalls and maybe ruins. just for my pleasure nothing commercial. I've got 3 264GB SD cards that I'd love to fill up. FYI, a 10 minute movie is about 7GB so I've got a lot to look forward to haha. CC is my anchor point but an over night sounds fun for SI. any ideas for me to film?

Warning you can't fly a drone at any of the Mayan sites or any airfield. Up until very recently you had to have a permit to even bring in a drone. it could be an interesting little movie to follow the river from the center of SI for some distance. SI and its surrounds is also a major farming area for Belize. Next month is the Ruta Maya 3 day International Canoe race along the Belize river. It comes directly alongside my property, My sons keep suggesting one year they make up a team but I doubt it will really happen for a non rower its a hard 3 day slog.

sounds like the Canoe race would be make a great movie. As the pilot I've made a commitment to not be intrusive or bothersome. my drone won't let me break the law and fly around airports. it refuses to take off no matter what I do haha. I filmed buffalo out West but didn't get below 400' so I didn't disturb them...that's why I've got zoom on the camera. Terrific, if you can think of other ideas for filming please share. thanks for your input also
