Banking: which is the best from the 4, are there issues w integrating with the US system and /or not, fees, i here very expensive to bank in Bermuda

owning a vehicle, form what i read, this si very difficult... any suggestions

For personal banking, Butterfield and HSBC are big and full-service, there isn't much to choose between them. Clarien is much smaller (fewer ATMs etc.) but it's probably the easiest bank to actually talk to a human being there and so if you need something done quickly, they are the best.

Commercial Bank is not really set up for personal banking or local business banking -- it is designed to accommodate offshore accounts with few other services.

Owning a vehicle is not difficult, just expensive. If you are renting a house, make sure that it comes with a parking space and that tenants are allowed to have a car (there is a limit of one car per household, so not all apartments are allowed a car).

Rent is very expensive. My suggestions are:
- don't worry about a seaview, as you will see the sea several times every day
- prices drop dramatically the farther you get away from the City of Hamilton
- traffic on the west side of the island is very bad during rush hour, If you want to live on that side of the island, consider whether you can be within walking distance of a ferry.

Starting a business there? It really depends on what you mean. To do local business, expats either need a majority Bermudian partner or a permit to do local business (which aren't easy to get, unless you employ several locals and don't compete with any existing businesses that might complain about it).
