Hi Brandy, Hope you and the family are getting settled. Hubby and I will be in Curitiba by Feb 15. He is going to be traveling a lot from there so I will be getting us settled in once I am there. No offer on the hosue here in Fargo yet. My oldest son and his wife will move in while we are out of country. The HR folks are looking for a furnished house for us and I am hoping for some water (pool or hot tub) and gardens. Sounds like we are an hr from the coast so my fishing will be a big part of my day thinking. Tell me your impressions of the area so far. How is the temp. Should I bring a coat or cold weather gear for the cold season? I connected with a teacher in the same town as us and am looking forward to hearing how things are there. Drop me a note soon, Marty

Hi Marty,

Sorry to butt in, but I thought my experience could be of use to you: Do bring warm clothes for the brazilian winter (in SP). We arrived in Sorocaba, SP in May last year and in june/july we were litterally freezing in the tropics! The houses (even the good ones) are poorly isolated and never have heating, so with night time temperatures around 5 C you can be sure to need both warm PJ´s and extra blankets.

Thanks Disi, It is good to know short pants and sandles are not all that is needed. I am moving from Fargo ND and have no shortage of warm clothes, just hoping I would not need them. I have seen some houses with fireplaces so that is good to know they actually are useful and not just decorative.
