UnionPay ATM Network No Longer Working at Banco Itaú?

Is anyone else having problems withdrawing money with Hong Kong bank ATM/debit cards, from Banco Itaú ATM machines which are supposed to be connected to China's UnionPay network? The HK bank ATM/debit cards have worked for several years now without problems . Banco Itau has been the designated UnionPay network partner in Brasil. However, recently, when inserting a perfectly functional ATM(chip) card from an HK bank into a Banco Itaú machine, the UnionPay Network no longer appears on the ATM display, as if it's no longer active at Banco Itaú ATM's. We've tested several different HK bank ATM cards at many different Itaú branches with the same result. The UnionPay network does not appear. Only the PLUS network appears now and it cannot process Unionpay ATM cards. Is anyone else having this problem?

We all (expats) seem to have many of the same issues with bank cards. Last year all Brazilian banks ended their relationships with Bank of America. For about a month our BofA cards would not work at any Brazilian Bank ATMs. Suddenly as fast as it disappeared the card began working again. Only now it would only recognized 1 of our 2 ATM cards. Both are the same account but have different card numbers. A year later and only the one ATM works and BofA states that the card is good and being blocked in Brazil. Since then there have been 2 other occasions where none of the BofA cards worked. This usually lasted on 1 or 2 weeks before they worked again. With Brazil.......No telling what is going through their minds or why they limited one card to work and rendered the other inoperative. Too me it is Brazil's loss as they get no money from us when they blocked our card!
