Moving to Canada and bringing in my salary

Hello all,

I am Francisco, from Argentina. I intend to move to Canada next year and I am trying to understand the best way to go about it.

I have a question I am having a lot of trouble finding the answer to. I work full-time remotely for a company based in the US, I wonder if bringing in my salary to Canada and pay the corresponding taxes would give me some opportunity for legal residence.

For context, I am a software engineer, employed full-time, 35 years old. I have a very basic understanding of French (would that be a problem?) I would be moving in with my girlfriend. She is a freelance Graphic Designer also working remotely.

We haven't really decided where in Canda to move to yet, for what I could see it is a beautiful country all around and as long as we have a good internet connection we would be happy. We are still in an early stage of planning, and we wanted to know if bringing in our combined income would help us moving in.
