Pet Microchip Suggestion

Hi,

We will be moving from the USA to Colombia soon and will be bringing our pets (dogs). We'd like to microchip our new puppy with a chip that will be readable in Colombia. I know that there are various manufacturers of microchips and readers, and the frequency of the various chips can differ. Does anyone have any experience with microchipping a dog in the US and having it work in Colombia? Or have you microchipped your pet in Colombia and can you share which chip type you used? Specifically, it's probably most important to know the frequency used in the chip and reader -- 125kHz or 134kHz, or something else?

Quick update... Thanks to some PM responses, I have some additional info. Apparently, Colombia uses the ISO standard 15-digit chip at 134.2kHz. So now we're investigating which chips we can get and use in the USA, and which will also be workable in Colombia. The investigation continues.
