The 2 months of Lock Down in Colombia was a complete and utter failure

Well cases and deaths are going up exponentially in Colombia.

1500 new cases today.

It now apears that the idea to lock down early, which destroyed the economy, and which many on this site praised, was a complete and utter failure.

So what are they going to do now? Stiffen up the lock Downs again to maintain a strict "Police State"? Allow more people tostay unemployed, lose their business , houses and even allow some people starve?

Or continue to open things up, allowing travel between departments and cities and allow the death rate to soar, killing off the older people, like in Europe or Ecuador, maybe even worse?

Colombia is really in a pickle now.

Myself, I have a personal dilemna. There is an emergency flight back to Canada on June 13. It was initiated by Colombia to repatriate Colombians. The Canadian embassy doesnt expect any other flights until September. You Americans have it lucky. You have so mant options for emergency flights.

I dont really want to leave, but it looks like things are way freer in Canada. People can go to the provincial parks and national parks. I could go climbing, hiking and biking. And the cases apear to be diminishing in Canada

Here I am stuck in the city limits. They wont let me go to other parts of the Department and there are hardly any cases here. Around 60.

I am scared that with Colombia losing control of the situation and the disease spreading, rapidly, they will lock things down further and become draconian again, No flights internal or external until the end of the year.No leavingthe city limits. Maybe even they will give up the right to exercise outside again. Who knows?

I have registered for the flight but dont know if I will take it, So many pros and cons. I wish we had more options for emergency flights like US citizens.
