I don’t post on the forum anymore but as I think I’m the only person who really lives in Llanogrande I’ll tell you what I know.
Most of Llanogrande is rural and therefore internet is generally delivered over copper phone lines which can limit it to around 10 MBS.. Our road was cabled recently with fiber and we get 50 MBs. We’ve been told it’s sort of an experiment (there’s a new development going up near us). The biggest issue that we have is when we have issues it can take time to get it fixed as they don’t have many fiber trained engineers in the area. Some people have the Hughes satellite system as a back up. That’s capacity limited and expensive though.
Even getting cabled if you’ve not got service can be a challenge. The distribution box on our road was fully used so there was a waiting list for connections.
As the cables all run overhead there’s a fair amount of outages as well. The power and internet companies don’t trim trees so when storms pass through it’s not unusual to have outages.

I have copper here in the US and I don't get anywhere close to 10MB. 3MB on a really good day.

Hughes net suffers from latency delay. Because you are going from your house to the satellite, to Hughes control center, through their proxy. It may 186,000 mile per second but there is some distance involved that makes even audio communications bad. Also you what is call Fair Access Policy which pretty much states you can't hog the frequency for all your downloading. When you reach your maximum throughput, you get 'FAPped' and they will throttle you to barely above dial-up speed!

Sounds to me like one should choose more of a big city environment in order to get decent internet service. I rely on it, so that definitely narrows down the possible destinations.
