ELN burned 8 vehicles

The ELN burned five trucks and three inter-municipal transport service vehicles.

A delicate public order situation arose this Thursday night in the village of Puerto Valdivia, in the municipality of Valdivia, North of Antioquia, where ELN guerrillas took to the road and incinerated several vehicles.

In unofficial information that reached El Colombiano!!!, it was established that the guerrillas hit the road in the Crucecitas sector and burned eight vehicles after forcing people to get out of them. However, this is a preliminary balance delivered to the military and police authorities.

“The only thing we saw is that these people came out of a small mountain near here and stopped the cars, threatening us with long firearms. They then proceeded to set fire, "said a witness.

After the burning of the vehicles (five trailers and three public transport buses affiliated with the Brasilia and Coonorte companies), the guerrillas proceeded to leave an Eln flag on one of the fences, next to the highway. In addition, from the area they confirmed that fighting was taking place.

'The Colombian' consulted the Army to corroborate the news and they confirmed the fact, although they indicated that the commander of the Joint Task Force Aquiles, General Raúl Fernando Vargas Idárraga, "is on the move towards the scene of the events." They added that in the sector there are already troops and members of the Police investigating what happened. At night, the road was closed.

According to information given by the National Police, due to these events, the road is closed between the municipalities of Yarumal km. 30 + 200, Mina Vieja sector and Tarazá km. 123 + 200, Monteverde sector of Route 2511, due to public order disturbances.

The authorities confirmed that the GAO Eln has a criminal presence in the sector, opposite Héroes y Mártires de Tarazá.
