What is the cost of living in Columbia? How much annual income do you need to live well in Cali? Is Cali a good place to live? What is the cost of a good home in Cali? Are there car or exotic car dealerships in Cali?
Where are the best places to live in Cali? What are the best restaurants in Cali?

Thanks,
Jeff

Most expats will not want to live in Cali, unless they have family there. It's great for a visit though.

But the city has a lot of crime. And a lot of heat and humidity. The people are friendly though - but "no dar papaya" is something you always want to practice there.

You can live well with a minimum of income, depending on your desired lifestyle. Look at Locanto for Cali to get an idea of rents. Look under INMOBILIARIA and click on the first line for apartments, the fourth line for houses. Or the second line for rooms for rent if you are adventurous and want to jump-start your Spanish learning.

You can read about restaurants in Cali here:

Cali as the third largest city in Colombia has just about all the amenities you'd want. The people are friendly and there's lots to see and do.

But it's not going to be the first choice or even the second or third for most expats, and there's lots of reasons for that, but the biggest reason is there are many nicer places to live with less crime and better weather...

Jeff, what kind of lifestyle are you looking for? People live decent on 2k a month but live frugally and probably limit dining out.

My favorite restaurant in Cali is Platos voladores. But plenty of other good ones too.

I would recommend against anything too flashy in Cali [and most of colOmbia) you are asking for problems when you display wealth.

Google is your friend for real estate searches on prices, trip advisor for restaurants.

I live in Cali and you require some knowledge of where you cannot go as a foreigner. I know quite well the good and bad barrios. As for the cost depending on where you live will make the big difference. The good areas are the ones I live. Downtown :
Barrio Centenario ; A apartment will cost from $750,000 pesos up to 1,2 millions pesos. Walking distance from the Alcaldia and Boulevard Rio Cali, Embassies are located here.
Barrio Olimpico Just off the autopista Sur Oriente. By the Centro Recreativo Olimpico , you will have the Olimpic pool and Football plus Tennis and Volleyball. Cannot ask any better, The Majority of the Clinics are 10 minutes walking distance. Violence is lower than many USA Cities. Apartments from studio will cost from 450,000 Pesos. up to 1,2 millions for a large apartment with pool.
There are many high End areas that also have neighbors with some Narcos. I would recommend staying away from some high end Barrios.
To resume the apartment cost plus your cellular cable internet will cost you around $120,000 monthly. Calculating the pesos in USD or CAD will bring you to about $500.00 for the basic costs. Food & Drinks will cost you with restaurants & Wine $600 per month. ($2,200,000 pesos). I live extremely well with all the basic plus the food and restaurants. for $1,500 USD including a couples of champane bottles at home. All the taxis , some visits around. Clothes .computer hardware.
