Well... get ready for the Ticos to start blocking the roads in protest again. This is going to get ugly and it should, if the Gubmint tries to follow through with all of the outrageous mandates.

Many countries are already demanding the same.
Besides, when you travel to Costa Rica you will need a Health Pass anyway.
We went to Canada recently and we too needed to get our QR Code upon return.
While there the Ministerio de Salud sent a link to us so that we could enter their website and get it.
We had to show it in 3 different airports.

So this is what Canada and many countries are demanding????????? Do they have guards at restaurants and stores that you have to show your QR code to?????????

On December 1st, it will be mandatory to show your QR code (COVID-19 vaccination certificate) to enter the following establishments:

1. Restaurants, sodas, cafeterias, food courts and food trucks.
2. Bars and casinos.
3. General stores, department stores and shopping centers.
4. Museums.
5. Fitness centers.
6. Hotels, cabins or hospitality establishments.
7. Spas.
8. Activities, organizations or congregations in places of worship.
9. Event rooms for business, academic or social activities.
10. Adventure tourism.
11. Theaters, cinemas, art and dance academies, and artistic activity establishments.
12. Sports activities establishments.

The Defensora de los Habitantes (Ombudswoman), Catalina Crespo, affirmed this Thursday that 800,000 Costa Ricans do not want to be vaccinated against covid-19.

According to the latest statistics by the Caja published on October 11, 3,525,260 people have already received at least one dose, which is equivalent to 82.4% of the target population of 4,274,344, which is made up of people over 12 years of age. Meanwhile, almost 2.4 million (2,395,829) people have the complete scheme, which is 56% of the target population or 46.4% of the total population.

An analysis by the Data de La Nación unit estimated that 80% of the total population could be vaccinated by the second half of January.

After December 1st, will you still be required to wear a mask inside these establishments??

I know lots of Ticos that don’t have phones, what will be the procedure for them? Or is it just assumed that since they’re too poor to afford a phone they won’t be going to bars and restaurants anyway? This also assumes a certain level of computer literacy and access to the internet that not everyone has around here, especially in rural areas. Or do those people not matter?

What about people that don’t take their phones with them everywhere they go? Will it be enough to show your vaccination card? Can the QR code be printed out, which is also difficult for people living in rural areas without access to Internet or a printer?

These new rules are ridiculous. I'm vaccinated and I won't abide them. Too authoritarian. Hopefully the government will realize this and walk it back. If not, when the unvaccinated ticos set up the roadblocks I will bring them sandwiches and tea and say hold fast friends.

I complied and filled out the brief form, uploaded proof I was vaccinated and in 20 minutes I had my QR. Took a pic with my phone and it is with me.

Having to produce that everywhere. I go in CR, come 12.1.21, we shall see.

It isn't a complicated matter, unless you're not fully vaccinated.

Mho of course.

My opinion, you have to roll with life punches a bit. Covid taught all of us that. I understand the case stated for those of low income, but let's not react until just cause.
