buying an used/new car, residency, home/auto/health insurance, etc

New Topic Newest First

I will be moving to Playa Hermosa, guanacaste province.

1. I want to know where/how /what is the best way to buy an used/or new car nearby.

2. Recommendation in buying for home insurance and car insurance?

3. How to get the best price and good pool contractor? I would like to install a new swimming pool, but I do not want to spend too much money. Any ideas?

Thank you in advance for your help.
Keith

There is a good used car dealer in Parrita, not far from where you will be living.
Price Auto. Our friends in Dominical speak highly of them.

We also used WheelsCR.com in San Jose to buy a car, and were happy with their service. And we used INS for car and home insurance.

We used Russ as well and they were great. You need an attorney to buy a car in CR and also, because we are not residents but Tourista status, needed to open an escrow account account to get the money transferred from the states to CR to puchase the car. They referred us to GeldStruck in Escazu for this service. So count on a attorney fee, notary fee, plus escrow fee in addition to cost of vehicle.
