What to take an what to leave behind?

Greetings all, I'm getting ready for my big relocation to CR before the end of the year. And now I am trying to figure out what to take with me and what to sell.

I am not planning on taking any of my furniture and will be selling virtually everything in my house with the exception of some clothes.

Things I am considering taking:

1. My set of wireless power tools and basic non-power tools

.2. My art collection which consists of a lot of heavy ceramics and stoneware pieces.

I was planning on packing the tools and flying them down with me, the artwork is very fragile and needs to be professionally packed and shipped. I was planning on finding a third party packing and shipping company to handle that.

Some questions I have:

1. Are used personal effects and artwork be subject to customs and duty charges? What is the charge?

2. What items did you bring with you that you later regretted? What items are you sorry you did not bring with you?

Thanks for any help and advice!

Bring favorite linens and towels. I like thinner towels like from Walmart. I like cotton sheets, not a lot here. If you are going to walk a lot like I do in mountainous city, bring good shoes with good tread. Favorite brand underwear. Whittle down greatly sentimental stuff. Favorite hair conditioners.
Bring kitchen gadgets as they are cheaply made here. A least a few favorite flatware, they are tinny and cheap here.

Thank you for this! I love my kitchen gadgets so I will make sure I bring those,

What about small appliances like I love my Kitchenaid stand mixer, but it's so heavy? Will it cost more to bring it than it's worth?

Are the bed sizes same as here, do they have a standard queen and king size beds? I love cotton sheets so would bring my King size set

Thanks again for your help!

I don't know the price of the mixer but awhile back I was going to buy that type mixer and were very expensive. Bring if you have the room and the weight limits.

My husband and I are also in the planning stage of relocation in the next five years. Would having your items be easier to put into a shipping container or would that be to expensive?
