I think google has given me the options to become a resident of Costa Rica, but I would like a more reliable source.

The main residencies that foreign people apply for are the following:

Retirement Residency: This residency is given to retired people that can demonstrate that they receive a monthly income, from their pension fund, of more than US$1,000.00 per month. If USA you may request the letter here: https://cr.usembassy.gov/es/u-s-citizen-services-es/fbu-inquiry-form-es/

Investor Residency: This residency is given to foreign investors that have executed a formal investment in Costa Rica (such as a purchase of a property) for an amount equal or higher than US$200,000.00.

Rentista Residency: This residency is granted to foreign people that must prove a bank will commit to transfer, with a certified letter, at least US$2,500.00 per month, to their bank account in Costa Rica for a period of no less than 24 months, in a consecutive, stable and irrevocable manner.

It would be helpful to know what that option is and much more about your circumstances.

Thank you for confirming my understanding. I also thought that each of these options provided temporary residency for 3 years that then rolled over to permanent; Is this correct?
