Need furnishings and appliances

Greetings, everyone well, my big move to Costa Rica. It’s finally happening and I purchased a two bedroom two bath house in Grecia.. my relocation date is February 2. The house I’ve purchased is basically unfurnished with only a stove and oven so I will be looking for a refrigerator or an a washer and dryer and and furnishings for the bedroom, living room, and kitchen.. I’m looking for recommendations on where to start looking for these items. I am familiar with the price smart and did see that they have some limited appliances so I would greatly appreciate any and all recommendations on where to start so I can at least research prior to my travels. Thank you so much in advance and wishing everyone a happy new year.

We bought all our appliances at Ambitech in Escazu. Not cheap but great service, install, delivery & all of high quality which can be an issue in CR. All working fine 4 years later after a major remodel of condo.

You might consider an overnight trip to Golfito. When my partner and I were shopping for appliances, he went there. At the time it wasn't required that the purchaser be a citizen.

it may not still be a thing but I fully furnished and equipped my home with items I found for sale on Craigs List Costa Rica, eight years ago?

Check Gollo y Monge both have fairly decent websites with deals/ clearance items.

Walmart usually has a good selection and OK prices.

Researched a lot and bought, love our new bed from "SleepLand", made here in Costa Rica @ https://sleeplandcr.com/.

Buena suerte!

Hi Eric, I have a nearly new washer and dryer. I bought them for my tenant but she only stayed 2 months. The new tenants have their own. These are excellent appliances and still under warranty. I have the same ones in my house. If you're interested, write back and we'll figure out how to connect directly. I live in San Isidro de Grecia.

Wish I had seen this sooner... I found some good mid-century itms and furniture from 20th century architectural 'icons' at Nordico, in San Jose... there are few showrooms in the city, and one of them has the warehouse behind it... as many of the items are kept in-stock.
Eames chairs, Saarinen, Mies van der Rohe, Breuer, etc. A little modern goes a long way down here because a lot of the furniture is just plain Ugly, or cheap 'contemporary' stuff.
Hope this helps.
