Cuenca

Hi,
My husband and I retired to Bahia De Caraquez from South Africa in May 2008. Although we enjoy Bahia, the frustration and inconvenience of being able to obtain items locally but having to travel to even find cat litter or skin care products for sensitive skin is getting to me. I would like to travel to Cuenca to see whether we should rather settle there. However, when we traveled to Banos I became very ill with Altitude sickness. Does anyone know whether Cuenca would have the same effect, and can one get over this "sickness?"
