Root canals

When I came to Ecuador I had several crowned molars but only one root canal. My second year here, I had alot of pain in one of my teeth that did not have a crown. I went to a local, inexpensive dentist who speaks no English and had a root canal done and a crown put on. I also had cavity drilled and filled. All went well and the cost was just $360 total, for the crown and the root canal. And an additional $15 for the cavity.
Recently I began having quite alot of pain in two molars that both had years ago been crowned in gold. I went back to the same orthodontist since shes cheap and even though her bedside manner is poor. She drilled through both crowns and performed both root canals at the same time. She had given me the option of removing and replacing the existing crowns, or to simply drilling them and then sealing them after the root canal was completed. I opted for just the root canal and kept the existing crowns. Now, three weeks later, everthings seems perfect and the cost was just. $180 each root canal.
I now have insurance to cover, major medical, psychiatric,
eye, teeth, medication, and even death and repatriation of my body after death. That insurance doesnt begin till May 1st. And cost $150 a month. I have not had insurance in these past several years since everything is so cheap. But, in case of something major, pacemaker etc, I think its for the best.
