Pain meds/meds available

New Topic Newest First

Just read an old thread about pain meds.
It said none were available. Is this still true?
I have physical issues that require its usage.
Is there someone that can tell me if the following doctor prescribed meds are available?
Please reserve judging comments. Medication is. Very personal and private issue.
Abilify
Adderall (narcolepsy)
Lortab (pain medication )
Thanks in advance.
Sadly, I may have just realized that living in Ecuador wont work. Sigh. Without my medication, I would not be able to make it-especially being that the reason for the move is to chill and retire. Neither of which would be possible without it. Sigh.
Thanks.

Hi there: I don't know about the pain meds you described in this post, because I don't take any, but it is probably true. Although a lot might be found illegally, available on the black market, I have discovered that even having my dental appointments with crowns, root canals, and implants requires me to insist, insist, insist that I get novocaine. Nothing stronger is ever available, unlike the U.S. which is radically more expensive for dental but do have nitrous and other stronger meds for dental work that is invasive. The dentists here are excellent and will provide novocaine, but unless I ask in advance, they seem to feel that us patients can bear a lot of pain. I start each dental session with saying I cannot bear pain and require lots of novocaine; they agree; otherwise, it is lacking if drilling is only momentary or for the length of the visit. Perhaps other non-U.S. patients are used to bearing pain but I can't. However, the dentists are well trained and do good work, at a much smaller fee than in other countries.

First, never had to ask to get Novocaine from my dentist. Of course he was trained in the US and speaks English. He even has prescribed Valium for tough cases.

As for the drugs the OP is on, Doubt you will find that hard core of a drug down here. You may just need to order a 1 or 2 year supply from a Canadian pharmacy like northwestpharmacy.com which will need a doctors prescription. Then every 2 years you go back for a visit or have someone mule it back for you. there are services that wouldn't cost you more than $30 to bring it down I would suspect.

Many people come down here on a complex regime of meds to find out that they ease off them and a change of life and natural alternatives does wonders.

I'm not sure about the drugs you have listed but I do know that ritalin (ritalina) can be found with a prescription in Guayaquil. I personally needed phentermine for some weight loss and had been told it was impossible to find here. That also was easily obtained with a prescription. I simply paid a rip off doctor 20 dollars for a prescription, no exam necessary.. He even said he gives medical prescriptions for marijuana. I am not currently a user though.
