Cooperativa JEP coming to Manta

Greetings. Have been told by a JEP rep that they'll be opening an office in Manta in about 5 months. Nice interest rates on CD' s (up to 8.5%).

If you'd rather not wait (how many manañas are there in 5 months?), I've had dealings with Cooperativa 29 de Octubre, already here in Manta with similar interest rates, and they're pretty sharp, I think. They're in San Marcos plaza with Akí supermarket and Super Exito, on Calle 13. (Ignore Google maps - it still shows them at their old address) They both seem fairly stable. The ratings I saw had JEP at AA-, and 29 de at BBB+. You might also recall though, that Beare Sternes and Lehman Bros. were both rated AAA+ on the day before their bankruptcies. Hmmm.
