Meeting Ex-pats in Cuenca

Post New Topic

As an individual who is traveling to Cuenca, Ecuador in October, I would appreciate any information in regards to meeting ex-pats. I realize this is a generalized question, but I'm hoping that I might speed up the process of moving there and decrease common mistakes that could save me time and money.
I have followed this site and others for two years now and am ready to make the move. I guess my biggest challenge (other than learning Spanish) is my ability to meet ex-pats who are willing to discuss and share information with me. Where are some of the hangouts and activities where I might find groups or individuals to talk to?
I am a retired educator/writer from the U.S. who is making the big move. I would appreciate any help in this matter.
Thank you

A good place to talk to expats is at the Inca Lounge on 3 de Noviembre in the late afternoon.
Overlooking the Rio Tomebamba - Second level.
Lucky for you . . . They also have an outstanding kitchen. Save your appetite.
We're fun and full of free advice!
(But you get what you pay for!) :-)

To those who have responded, I thank you. Moving to a new country as a 70 year old will certainly be challenging. However, I feel that just having some ex-pats who can remember the challenges they faced will be keep me from making several mistakes.
I will be following as many sites as possible over the next month and I would be interested in any more valuable information that may come to mind.
Again, thank you for your consideration.
