Tourist 90 day extension

Thought I'd ask if anyone knows what to do after the 90 day stay extension expires or if they will extend it again. No help from the Embassy since they refer me to an EC site all in Spanish that I can't read. A yearly snowbird visitor.

We are in the same situation.
Our visa ends in early June.
The law, regarding the corona virus, grants forgiveness of any fines for having expired visas for up to 30 days after the emergency is declared ended.
What this means is that when the emergency ends you have 30 days to either leave the country or obtain a valid visa.
It's likely we have to fly out of the country or leave by bus, perhaps to Peru.

Unless things have changed drastically, if you applying for an EXTENDED VISA ( now the first step towards a PERMANENT VISA for most ) and get your paperwork approved and submitted - even if your visa is expiring or expired, due to the govt. offices being closed due to the Corvid-19 restriction, you won't be forced to leave the country.

Tourist Visas are only good for 90 days per year without an extension. From what I have been able to find out for a friend of mine, even though he was stuck here during the complete lockdown, and his visa expired during that time, he will not be penalized on returning next year and can return the same time he normally does ...

Thanks for your quick response. I think I will see what happens when I get the opportunity to leave with my old reservation with COPA which looks like won't be until late June thru July. I read that I may be fined if the extension has expired and wanted to avoid the penalty.

Thanks for the valuable info. I will just take my chances and wait for COPA to reschedule my reservation which they say they will start flying possibly after June 28.
Good luck to you and salud!
