Please help me find a great please to live with a good elementary school!

Hi there,

I'm taking a sabbatical from my job and my partner works remotely, so we are considering moving to Ecuador with our 6 year old in August of 2022. Our main goals are to live somewhere beautiful, improve our Spanish and expose our kid to a new culture. Our daughter is attending spanish-english kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year in the US, so she will be conversant in Spanish by the time we arrive in Ecuador in August of 2022.

We would LOVE suggestions regarding where to live. Here's what's important to us:

1. We need to enroll our daughter in 1st grade. We are happy with public or private. We want most instruction to be in Spanish. We care more about her having a fun, interesting experience than about the academics (it's just 1st grade)!

2. We want to be somewhere beautiful, preferably near the water. We don't need the amenities of a big city. For us, this will be a vacation from city life!

3. We want a place we will feel safe.

Any and all suggestions are welcome! We have 1 year to figure out where to move for our sabbatical year, and Ecuador is at the top of our list (though we're looking at a few other central/south american countries too!).
