Moving to Fiji

Hi all,

My wife (Fiji Citizen) and I + 2 kids aged 2 and 3 months will be moving to Fiji in 2019! We are selling everything we have in Sydney Australia for a life in paradise. We have visited Fiji to many times to count it is our second home and we can’t wait for the move.
We are interested in starting a high end backpacker resort on or near the coral coast. My wife grew up in Pacific Harbour so anywhere along the coast would be ideal.

We are hoping to get in contact with anyone willing to invest and take on this journey of building a high end backpacker resort with us. Investing in a way of land lease, Building and or cashflow. We are planning a Small resort between 10-15 villas, pool and bar.
If anyone is interested please contact me ASAP.

Vinaka!

I am not an investor, but I a valuer that specialises in valuation of resorts around Fiji and the Pacific. I would suggest you look at the numerous existing backpacker resorts around Fiji that are on the market. They are on the market for a reason - very hard to make money, as an investor. It is more of a lifestyle. Also, you will find you can buy these are much less than the cost to start and develop your own. The latter will take YEARS to get the lease, then to develop it, and then another year or two to get name recognition to get regular visitors. Thus, probably cheaper to buy an existing one, and you will have cash flow from the beginning not two years down the road. Also, not all resorts on the market are being advertised openly... as not good for business. Thus, you need to contact those agents specialise in resorts in Fiji. I know of one resort closed few years ago as owner passed away the family didn't want to run it. The broker says he may have investors for right persons wanting to operate it.

Hello..I am not a investor but build and ran a restaurant for 10 years..I have lived in Fiji now for 14 years..strongly suggest you do your homework on this..doing business in the tourism is not easy. If you want to become a millionaire bring two with you and if you are lucky after your adventure to have one.
