Car Controle Technique Date

Hi there,

Quick question if you know.
I exported my British car to France just inside the 6 month window after it's MOT. It took them 3 months to process. I received my carte gris and the x1 info on the carte gris says the date for a new CT 2yr 9 months after the British MOT. I feel uneasy leaving it that long for safety sake. However, I am coming up to the year from the last UK MOT. I would feel happier if someone with a good understanding of the French law confirms that the only thing that is important is the date on the Carte Gris. Many thanks, Adam.

If the car is less than four years old it doesn't need a CT, but if it is older why not just get the CT done and be done with it. It lasts 2years and you won't have to worry about it.

Well money really. I prefer to do that when I have a good months income rather than a bad one. If legally I have to have it done right now, I will obviously. However if I can wait until later in the year I would be grateful for the reprieve.
