I am planning to move to Germany in the coming weeks, as I have interesting job opportunities opening up there. I have started to plan and to make my arrangements over in Germany and have found quite useful websites such as http://www.bamf.de/EN/Willkommen/willkommen-node.html with information about life in Germany and the essential things to get organized. However things are getting more complicated when I try to find out about concrete services such as mobile phone providers, insurances etc. Who are the relevant players in the market, what are interesting offers and which provider can answer my questions in German (my German is very basic to non-existent for the moment ….). I found an interesting starting point here http://www.vergleichen.de/service/expats-und-migranten/en in that respect and would appreciate anybody’s comments about providers and their experience with them (especially insurance and mobile phone tariffs to start with …).
