moving to be near my granddaughter

My Granddaughter aged 4 is now living in Neulussheim with her German mum, my son is now separated. How easy would it be for me to find work aged 55 and experienced in childcare so classroom assistant etc. Not sure my granddaughter has settleed as we had a special bond. I speak English but understand some German. Thanks in advance. ps we have a good relationship with ex daughter in laws family.
