US/German income taxes requirement

I'm retiring from government service and staying in Germany. I will be getting my various retirement US checks while living here. I will be a resident of Germany once I leave government service. My wife is a German school teacher and pays German income taxes. Will she have to pay taxes on my retirement income? What German and US income taxes am I required to pay? Can anybody give me some advice and info? Thanks, Dave
