Howdy! Anybody with info about Tecojate, Nueva Conception, or nearby area? How to get there from GC, stay safely and reasonably while checking the area? Thanks

I might be of help for you as I just yesterday FRI 2/26 returned from tecojate after being there for 6 weeks.
I have a friend there who you should try to to find; his name is Tony. that's what he told me his name is, although later from him I found out that no one in the area will know who "Tony" is because they all know him by his true birth name, which is Melvyn Antonio Esteban. his 1st name is pronounced as/sounds like Mel-ween, or Mel-veen. Tony is 27 yrs old and fairly tall by local standards. And maybe best of all, Tony speaks, reads, understands English. Self taught by watching movies and TV in general by using closed captioning. Tony plays soccer at the field closest to the center of town and his house faces the ocean very near the soccer field. There's only one hotel in the area and I don't think it's cheap, although it does have a supreme swimming pool.
As far as how to get to Teco--- you should go to Centra Sur, the southern staging grounds for most all, if not all, buses going to the south of G. you reach Centra Sur by going to Plaza Barrios, in the very south end of Zona 1 in GC, and taking a TransMetro bus to Centra Sur. bus cost = 1Q, a coin in the slot. Walk down to the bottom level of Centra Sur to find the Nueva Concepcion bus.. the bus slots are numbered and the one to Nva. C./ Teco is about #46. the cost was Q60 for my last trip about 2 weeks ago. Even if you want to go to Teco, only go as far as Nva.C. initially. get off in Nva. C. and get banking done, buy food, whatever because Teco doesn't offer much. At a main intersection in Nva. C. you'll see buses going to GC and Teco/trochas. the 13 or 14 trochas are crossroads on the way to Teco. the cost to Teco from Nva. C. is 10Q. it generally leaves about 10 past the hour and takes about an hour. when you get to teco, in the traffic circle, you go down the steps to the water and take a ferry/barco across to the beach itself. cost = Q5, but that's only going over; the return to the mainland has always been FREE.
If you find Tony, you might tell him I said hello (hola) from Rodd, the bobo gringo or the hatman. I've been to Guatemala 7 times in last 10 years and to Teco 4 times in the last 8. if all goes well in the future for me, I'm moving to Teco in next 12-18 months. Buena aventura !!

The hotel by the pool on the beach is 200Q per day per person and 200Q per night per person, I thought that was a bit odd. So 400Q if you count it treat it as a normal hotel. The Marantha in NC is 85Q. I rent a car, always bring proof of ins from credit card co and liability inswith me. I fly home Tuesday, stopping in San Juan for my free covid test, will bring the paper to the airport to fly out. I have been coming to Guatemala for years been here too many times to remember exactly how many. I am a mile nut so round trip is $60.20 I'll be back in May, looking at property in Sipacate. We have permanent residency I LoVE Guate
