Did anyone go to Honduras and eventually learn the language? Been trying to learn but have a lot of difficulty.

I speak Spanglish
What I did was learn some simple Spanish and the locals you are around will understand what words you can speak and they will use those words along with other simple words. It is easier to communicate than you would believe. They will start to learn some simple English. It will all work out in the end ?

you don't have to learn the language but it can help. Most people know English.

buenas dias. I have no idea how old you are, but EVERYTHING becomes more difficult to learn when you get / are old. I'm 75; I know. I'm moving to Guatemala with only a real limited knowledge of Spanish, but that's ok--I'll learn it poco a poco (little by little). But here's an idea to ponder--- learn five new words a day for 2 months. that's 300 words. in the course of a day the average person, wherever they are, only speaks 300 different words. so find online the 300 Spanish words spoken most often.
then also learn the 10 most spoken verbs. not every tense, but the "I, you, he/she/it" of the present, past, future. KISS---keep it simple.
I'm sure I have misspoken every verb I've ever used in Central Am, but people still understood for the most part. and hey, don't ever under estimate the power of some sort of sign language, complete with motion and sound if needed.
