Age: Late 60's -Originally from Canada, in the USA since a young boy- military pension, married, younger wife (40), two young children (3 and 10), Retired. Am looking to buy a detached home for cash. Interested in the cost of living for a family of four if the home is already paid for, as well as four year old low mileage car already paid for. I am looking for a safer place for myself wife and family to live than in Mexico. We can pay cash for our home. Looking at probably spending about 125,000 to 135,000 euro for a 3 bedroom home with an acre or so. Country or rural near to a small to medium size city in the southwest of Ireland would be fine. I have my medical paid for anywhere in the world, would need medical / dental insurance for my wife and children. Cost of living should include schools, car petrol, car and house insurance, food and clothing, all the normal costs of living. We are without any debts and no house, credit card or car payments on our backs etc.

What would folks living in parts of Ireland other than the larger cities say a cost of living for a family of four would be monthly?

Thanks
Regards,
