Visa for family while in Ireland as a student

So I'll be in Ireland as a student for a year starting in 9/2019. We are from the US. What are the chances of my family being able to extend their time in Ireland to be with me while I am there? I've read of cases where Immigration has extended time to a year. Finances/insurance isn't an issue.

Thanks for your help

I was looking in,one and saw this information. Hope it helps!

“Can I bring my husband / wife / civil partner / children to Ireland while I study?

“In general, non-EEA students have no rights to bring their partners, spouses or children with them to Ireland.

Partners, spouses and children will have to make their own visa applications, as they cannot advance their application for permission to enter or reside in Ireland on the basis of their relationship to a registered non-EEA student.”

This site has more info.
