Moving back home

Hi everyone, my name is Queen and I’m planning on moving back to Jamaica and I wanted recommendations on what areas would better fit my current lifestyle. I currently live in Atlanta Ga, USA. I was born in St.Catherine Jamaica. I live there until I was about 8 and then I moved to NYC. At the age of 18 I moved back home (my father still lives there) and I stayed with him for about 2 years and then I moved back to the US. I am currently finishing up school in the United States and I’m searching for a 100% remote work at home job (fingers crossed) . I do not want to live in the country with my family. I want to live in close proximity to the beach and I would like to live in a safe area amongst working class people. Any suggestions?

Hi Queen expat from NY and Colorado. I live in Negril. My husband is Jamaican boat captain through RIU. If you are interested in Negril feel free to contact me with any questions. There are no jobs here, and if there are jobs they pay on average 4 dollars an hour, so you have to create your own job. Which is much more fun. Good luck with your move. You wont regret it. Bless up ya self

Hi Queeny, how are you? I have 2 one bedrooms for rent close to Ocho Rios, within a gated community. The job market out there is a tough one. What's your major? I'm driving to ATL in 3 weeks from FL. Any questions, reply here or pm me.
Best of luck in your studies.

If you want a completely remote job it might be better to secure one in Atlanta that will you to continue it in Jamaica. I knew someone who had a customer service job that allowed her to do that. As others have said, job market in Jamaica is tight and pay is lousy. The better jobs would be in Kingston and therefore not near any good beaches. If you want the beach life, have a job that pays in USD.
