Good day, We from south african and looking at moving to Madagascar, no we dont know to much about the country.
I am a data capture Clerk, my partner is a plumber, son and daughter in law are both in IT, as well as daughter in law is a book keeper, they have an 8 year old son.

It is difficult to find employment for us?

It is impossible for south Africans to emigrate, live and work there?

Would be be able to adjust to the climate? living and the culture in Madagascar?

Does anyone know where South Africans can go to live and work in?

thank you in advance

Regards

I had been living in Madagascar from 2004-2015 and had a company for solar systems and video production there with 3 employees.

Find a job: very difficult. Better create a company (plumbing, IC, maybe solar systems? anything technical!) and create some local jobs.

You will have to learn French and Malagasy - no chance to come through with English. The best both - but with Malagasy you definitely would open the hearts of the locals - and you need it to talk with your employees. Many people don't even speak French - the more countryside, the less French.

It is an unstable country - count with a (often unconstitutional) change of government every 5-7 years. End 2018 will be elections - at present there are demonstrations against the current (of course corrupt) president. Many people are afraid of a very unstable year. In any case wait until after the elections, then after the rainy period (it ends by May), because the Routes Nationales between the cities are often cut in an unsurmountable way...

Expect CORRUPTION. This is why I finally left. But living since 3 years in Nicaragua where we have quite unforeseen severe fights and riots in this "safest country of Central America", everythng is relative..

I feel often homesick for Madagascar where I was able to realize almost all of my boldest dreams... Maybe I will go back next year..
