Alex, St. James International is an investment company that will pay you IF you sell their products to people in Mexico. All the risk and the work will be on your part; they will make a profit if you earn it for them.

Most gringos in Mexico have their financial affairs in order, and I doubt that you will be able to do much with them. I strongly advise you not to accept this job.

Americans can find work in Mexico, but they have to provide a service that a Mexican cannot provide, or they have to be hired by an American company that sends them there. Your chances of finding employment down here are slim. There are gringos employed in insurance and real estate companies that deal heavily with non-Mexicans, but most of those jobs require some fluency in Spanish.

Please don't feel that I am being rude; I am only telling you the truth.

Hi Vince, thanks for your reply, I appreciate your advice.

Still dont know what to do... most of my people over here in GB think I'm mad to even contemplate it, but the more I look into the possibility of moving to Mexico the more tempted I become! The quality of life seems so much better over there especially for my kids.

I am actually British but as my mother is Spanish I am fluent in Spanish. Do you have any idea how I could find out about any jobs in real estate or insurance or even teaching english?

hi

if you are interested in teaching take the TESL course in the UK( about a 4 week course i think) i looked for teaching jobs out here when i arrived from the UK and two things held me back. My big lack of spanish ( but your OK there) and the TESL qualification.

Alot of schools here want native speakers and their exams are in Cambridge English. If you would like the names of some of the central schools and coperate teacher please e-mail me and i would be happy to supply them along with some of the pricables names which might help.

Dear Alexmex,
Yes I´ve heard about St James International, in fact i work for another company similar to St James in Mexico, but i don´t work as coordinator, i´m in the admin team. I don´t know if you finally moved in to Mexico or not, the thing is, its not so risky to work for this kind of company, the only thing is that the payment is direct related to the quality and quantitly of leads you get and they pay you good comissions indeed. If you need to know something about Mexico, don´t hesitate to contact me, Im Mexican and live nearby the DF. By the way, do you have a phone number of this office at Polanco?, i do need the phone number and still cannot get it.
Regards,
