How may I help? Have you done any reading about Mexico and the Lake Chapala area, other than on the various forums? Do you have experience living abroad in other places and do you speak any Spanish yet? Your questions seem much too broad to elicit many responses.

I speak Italian very similar to Spanish. I have done research. There is alot of info on the low cost of living, just want to know if this is true....

There are articles with somewhat unrealistic estimates of the cost of living in Mexico designed to attract folks to particular areas; sometimes by people and even international magazines with connections to real estate developments. One should expect a lower cost of living if one adjusts to local products and habits. Otherwise, it will be much the same as you experienced before.
