You may have better luck on one of the local websites. Look for Inside Lakeside dot com, and/or Chapala dot com. You will be arriving in the middle of the high snowbird season, so you would be wise to book lodging before you travel.

On there I have blogs on restaurants, communities, things to do, etc, etc. Welcome and I hope we get a chance to meet for a coffee.

Mark, There are many veterinarians in Chapala, and all the towns along the north shore of Lake Chapala. They will be easy to find, and you may want to visit some of them. However, if you do intend to work part-time, you should know that you will be required to posess a residence visa and specific permission from INM immigration authorities, be registered with the tax authorities, etc, etc. With a Permanent Residence Visa, you may work, but still need to notify INM and have all the other documentation. So, “semi-retirement“ will not be as simple as you may expect. To make matters worse; if you were to work for one of the established vets, they would have to be registered with INM and have permission to hire a foreigner.
