Anyone out there that lives in Patzcuaro or Zirahuen

My husband and I are thinking about Patzcuaro or Zirahuen for retirement. Anyone on this forum living there that can give any information on that area in terms of safety, cost of living, ease of finding rentals, etc. We will be visiting beginning of next year.

Thanks much!

Just that it is cold in the winter. Otherwise, we might have lived there, instead of Chapala.
Remember: No central heating! No insulation! No double pane windows!
No thermostat!
