If I overstay my Visa, is it Prison & Deportation ??

In that situation I have seen the passport stamped with "deportado : excesso permanencia". I'd assume you would not likely be issued a new visa in the future - but I have no idea, If you were lucky they might give you 48 hours to leave on your own. But as always - your mileage may vary.

First; There is no six month 'visa'. It is simply a tourist permit, which allows you to visit for up to 180 days; not quite 6 months. If you run into any difficulties, are in need of government services, or are stopped for any official reason, you may be detained and/or deported. It could prevent your return. I suggest you do not overstay your permit for any reason short of being hospitalized; in which case you call INM and they will visit you and make the necessary arrangements for you.

Mexico is no longer a third world country. Many of the government services are computerized. Yes - Mexico has some hurdles to confront - but they are not dummies. In comparison to the current US situation - most US folk coming south report in and do not swim rivers etc to get here. My point is - Mexico has a better idea of who is here from the north than the US does. Just my sense.

I;m sure ya'll have already seen this article :

People lose their FMM's all the time and just pay a fine when leaving the country. Where are you in Mexico?

Last I knew, some years ago, it amounted to about $5 USD per day of overstay, and the very real possibility of an inconvenient delay causing you to miss your flight. That may be their way of punishing you. :)
The "I lolst it" excuse might not fly now, with modern computers able to check your entry date instantly. It might work if you were on time, but not if you were beyond the 180 days; that would make it obvious that you were overstaying intentionally.
I do not suggest you play that game.

I have observed this at the Cancun airport. when checking out. There are hundreds of tourists lined up at INM everyday with lost FMM's. They are fined approx 500p, given a new FMM stamped "salida". Now you can get a boarding pass and leave Mexico..
