Hello,
I’m wondering if anyone here knows of a good international moving company or has any advice for someone moving back into the US from Mexico.
Much thanks

Brenda, Where are you moving from? In the Guadalajara area, the biggest company is Semy, and in the Chapala area there are a couple of smaller international movers. You will find them all with Google. We moved ourselves, by selling the house furnished and just filling our SUV. We are now in the Rio Grande Valley.

The Moving to Mexico Guy not only moves people to Mexico, but also back to the US. He moved me from AZ to Mazatlan..

Thanks for your reaponse.
The fact that you used them twice, suggest you were satisfied with the service.
Reviews are important to me. I can find companies. The challenge is finding one that i know is reputable.

That is quite the idea.
Stateside its easier to find out how reputable a company is, if for no other reason everything, is in english.
This is my challeng. Finding the highly reviewed, BBB certified company i feel i can trust.
Thanks for your response.

I actually used him once, but he was moving a lady from Mazatlán to Scottsdale just before he did my move. That lady had also used him previously, when she moved from the States to Mexico. Everything arrived as I had packed it. You can find reviews from previous customers in his web page.

I dont trust reviews from the service provider’s website. They moderate them. I’ve never read a negative testimonial on the service provider’s own site. It has to be third party.
But thanks

Done and done. I was told appliances are a no no. I got a washer & dryer used from a dude in the process of learning this the hard way. I rented from landlords that cater to Americans to avoid having to buy a refrigerator or stove.

I used zoomaloo for shipping household goods from Texas to Mexico but they also ship from Mexico to the states. They have an office in San Miguel de Allende and they also have a warehouse in Laredo, TX. They did an excellent job - ask for Jennifer or Ian who is her dad.

I have moved several times in and out of Mexico. It is easier to get out than in.
My experience going out I never got charged in the USA side. I personally believe it's cheaper to rebuy than pay to have it moved..
Figure out how much you truly want to keep something if it is worth paying to have it moved. Vs you don't need it or cheaper to buy it again after you have moved
When going out they put my vehicle in xray and then drove out no cost last move out at the Brownsville border in 2015 or 16. On that trip mostly clothes I gave away most stuff. They tj I have had beds, ect.
Big no no is birds and fruit not sure what else
Hope my experience helps.

sorry to butt in but I have a couple questions one of you maybe could help with. 1. If driving from Mexico with a plated, licensed car how do you insure it for a driving trip in the U.S.? 2. What about moving a dog and cat from NE to Mexico? Do any of these movers do that? thanks ahead of time!

Driving a Mexican plated car into the USA, for a temporary trip, is hassle free, but you will need insurance for the USA. Your Mexican insurance agent should be able to help you get such a policy for the length of your stay, or advise you on other options. I doubt that a mover would ship your pet, or that you would want them to do it. Your pet can travel with you and will require the usual veterinary certifications and a letter from the Veterinarian stating "this animal is free of internal and external parasites, and has been treated with Frontline".

@janalea - our Mexican auto policies include US coverage. They are top-of-the-line policies from AXA and originally picked up through HSBC. Check what you already have...
