Finding safe, affordable housing in Puebla

Hello. I'm moving to Mexico sometime in 2021, and I've done a lot of research and chosen Puebla as the city I'd like to try living in first.

I'm one of those people who lost everything in the recession through no fault of my own, and I have zero savings. I live on my SS and what I make working online, which gives me a total of about $1300-1500 US, depending on how much work I can find.

I can no longer afford to live in the US and have any kind of life at all. I chose Puebla because I was told by people who have lived there that the cost of living is very, very low and it's pretty safe.

I need to know which parts of town to look in once I get there. I plan to get an AirBnB for a week to look for a place. I'm looking for a studio, and was told recently that if I go outside the city centre, I may be able to get a very nice studio or even a 1-BR for about $200 US a month. I'm praying that it doesn't get overrun by well-to-do expats before then, because every place I've previously chosen has, and then the prices skyrocket.

Anyway, if anyone here is living in Puebla and can help me out with some info on housing and safe neighborhoods, I'd very much appreciate it. I was going to move to Cholula, but I live in a small college town now, and don't think I want to live in another one.
