Hello I'm new to the Mexico forum
considering visiting Merida as a place to retire from the US single African American male 68 years young ?? Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the Covid 19 situation is. Looking to meet others with the same interests. Retiring SS. Learning Spanish as best I can before I get there. And also how do you deal with mosquitoes. All information would be appreciated.

PV Jal is now code red until end of Jan and this is a better average than most states down here

Mrs Jane...If you are trying to help someone you might try answering a question they asked in the area they asked. Also for those new to Mexico research you might opt for Puerto Vallarta Jalisco not PV Jal. Just a thought.

Physically Mexico is open to travel. Like the US there are many limitations to services. This is not a good time to travel but it is done. Social settings are kept to a minimum so knowing what it will be like post Covid won't be found now. With your research you must know many expats call Merida home. Vaccinations begin in my state Sonora this week. Hopefully things can get back to something called normal soon.
