Mexican Adventure

Hola, Todos!
I'm an American expat currently living in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador. After 7 years I'm beginning to have respiratory problems with the altitude. Looking for a new adventure in Mexico. I don't do deserts and I don't do jungles. Any suggestions for a relatively"developed" area (doesn't have to be a big city) under about 4,000 ft. elevation with moderate temps year-round? I love beaches, but can't deal with temps higher than about the upper 80's. I know that sounds picky, but my health is more important to me than anyone's negative comments. Any suggestions?

Low elevation and not oppressively hot might be Ensenada, B.C. Beaches but desert, too.

I recently drove through Orizaba and Cordoba. Orizaba was cool in the evening in August, it's right at about 4000 ft. Cordoba is lower, 2700 feet, and they aren't far apart, so one or the other might suit. No beach, just mountains, but they're above you rather than under you.

I don't know how expensive Orizaba is though, I noticed the price of a double quarter pounder with cheese was a lot higher than the price in Cancun.

And, the good suggestion above, Orizaba, Veracruz is also a "Pueblo Magico" Town. Real pretty developed towns,

Thank you, Mattoleriver! I'll start my research with Ensenada. I visited there for a couple of days about a hundred years ago, so I know there has been tremendous growth since I was there.

Thanks, cancunkid! Two places I hadn't heard of. Will definitely research both of those destinations!
